InVitaLab Medizindiagnostik Added

A reader forwarded me a lab result from InVitaLab Medizindiagnostik and I have encoded as a new Lab on the site.

lab1

The report section on the microbiome is shown below

Lab2

The Entry Form

As usual, I have tried to follow the sequence and do the best matches when things are fuzzy. In some case, like for E. Coli Rauhform, there was no match so it was omitted.

Bottom Line

If you have a Lab result that is not a match for the existing ones, please send me a PDF of the results and I will add it. To see the current list of clinical labs supported visit:

Also, I am working on the ability for user to save these lab reports so you can return and get updated suggestions as the database of modifiers grows.

Recent Studies on Lyme

This is a review of recent studies recorded on PubMed. The focus is on new information – so studies reporting prior information will rarely be mentioned. Cases are now being reported from Nepal to New York City proper.

Recent Studies on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

This is a review of recent studies recorded on PubMed. The focus is on new information – so studies reporting prior information will rarely be mentioned.

Bottom Line

It was nice reading of success addressing the lactic acid aspect of CFS with antibiotics (erythromycin – a macrolide) on patients with high streptococcus count. It was the coming together of multiple threads — if you want to understand better or get a better background, see these posts:

Suggestions without a Lab Test

I’ve just added an “A priori” page.

A Priori relating to or denoting reasoning or knowledge that proceeds from theoretical deduction rather than from observation or experience.

In simpler words — if you have condition X and the results of the studies are correct, then we can make some suggestions assuming your microbiome shifts are similar to those reported in the literature.

Conditions Profiles Available

When you click on one of these, you will be taken to the suggestion page which allows you to filter suggestions in many different ways.

For example, for Mood disorders:

This is NOT medical advice — Just Educational

The suggestions are based on PubMed studies (with links provided). Often, these may be better than “off-the-cuff” suggestions made by some medical professionals.

This is an education post to facilitate discussing this approach with your medical professionals. It is not medical advice for the treatment of any medical condition. Always consult with your medical professional before doing any  changes of diet, supplements or activity. Some items cites may interfere with prescription medicines.

Recent Studies on Irritable Bowel Syndrome

This is a review of recent studies recorded on PubMed. The focus is on new information – so studies reporting prior information will rarely be mentioned.

Bottom Line

We continue to find more and more any significant studies on microbiome shifts for IBS. A microbiome dysbiosis model fits well — including the increased risk of progression into dementia (which have greater dysbiosis).

I have updated the IBS Profile on http://microbiomeprescription.azurewebsites.net

Addendum: HOLIGOS for sale in US (Finally!):

It’s Human Milk Oligosaccharides — to be more precise, bio-identical oligosaccharides  which would be found in mother’s milk. We all know that a child that is breast fed usually grows up with less health problems than a bottle fed one.
